Clallam County ARES provides auxiliary communications to local emergency and relief organizations when activated by the county’s emergency management office. It also supports events such as marathons, safety fairs and the county fair. Members meet monthly at the county emergency operations center, with a connected meeting in Forks and online access. A weekly radio net runs on the other Tuesdays.

The group works with the local amateur radio club to promote ham radio. You need an amateur radio license to take part.

Volunteers serve through the program, not on their own: register as an emergency worker through the sponsoring agency before you help in an emergency.

Before you rely on any group: contact them, join a practice net or drill, and keep calling 911 first whenever you can.
