Community Emergency Response Team training listed by Clallam County. Residents learn disaster preparedness, fire safety, light search and rescue, team organization and disaster first aid.
Clallam County lists CERT among its emergency volunteer programs. CERT teaches people how to prepare for local hazards and how to help themselves and their neighbors safely in the first hours after a disaster. The county page explains how to ask for a trainer to hold a CERT class in your community.
The same page lists other county emergency volunteer groups, including Clallam County ARES for licensed radio operators.
Volunteers serve through the program, not on their own: register as an emergency worker through the sponsoring agency before you help in an emergency.
Before you rely on any group: contact them, join a practice net or drill, and keep calling 911 first whenever you can.
