Inland NW Mesh is a volunteer group that designs, builds and maintains a MeshCore network across the Inland Northwest. On its site it says it is operating as a community volunteer group while it files for nonprofit status. It publishes a wiki with a newcomer guide, channel list, network policies and troubleshooting notes.
The group’s client setup guide names the preset and settings it uses. Its coverage area also reaches into North Idaho, but it started in Spokane County.
Before you buy a radio, match the protocol and settings the group publishes; a radio on different settings will not hear the local mesh. Call 911 if you can. Mesh and radio are best-effort backups, and coverage varies with terrain, weather and how many nodes are on the air.
